Terms and Conditions

By placing an order with Flying Saucer Vintage Crockery Hire, the customer agrees to the following Terms and Conditions. Please take the time to read these through to the end.

Hire Period

Our Standard hire period is 3 days (normally to include delivery the day before your event and collection the day after).  Longer periods can be arranged if required but this may incur an additional cost.  Items remain the property of Flying Saucer Vintage Crockery Hire at all times.

Delivery and Collection

We deliver and collect orders over £100 free of charge within 15 miles of Hindhead, Surrey. Smaller orders and distances greater than 15 miles are charged at 45p per mile on both delivery and collection.

Deposit

To secure your order a non-refundable £50 deposit is required at the time of booking.  The balance (plus a breakage deposit of £100) is due 28 days before the event.  The breakage deposit will be returned within 7 days of the event, less any charges for breakages or missing items as detailed below.

Cancellations

Cancellations made less than 28 days before the event will be charged at 50% of the total order value. 

Packaging

All items will be delivered clean, bubble-wrapped and packed in suitable boxes.  Bubble wrapping should be returned separately in the bags provided.  Following the event, crockery should be returned un-washed (having removed excess food and liquid), individually wrapped using the paper provided, and packed in the original boxes.  Customers should not wash the crockery before collection.  Under no circumstances should any of the crockery be put into a dishwasher, oven or microwave.

Breakages, Damage and Missing Items

In the event of loss, damage or breakage, items will be charged as follows:

  • Cups, saucers and small plates – £10 per item
  • Sugar bowls and jugs – £10 per item
  • Large cake plates – £12 per item
  • Teapots, coffee pots or their lids – £35 per item
  • Glass jam/cream pots – £5 per item
  • Tiered cake stands – £25 per item
  • Missing items of silver-plated cutlery will be charged at £5 per item

(Please note that any damaged or broken items should be wrapped and returned.)

Liability

Whilst every effort will be made to fulfill your order, Flying Saucer Vintage Crockery Hire regret that should circumstances beyond our control prevent this from happening, our liability will be limited to the value of the order.  No damages will be paid in respect of alternative arrangements you may make, or losses you may incur.

Flying Saucer Vintage Crockery Hire accept no responsibility in the event of any injury or damages caused to any person or premises by the hire equipment.
